PROPECIA
It is thought that individuals with androgenetic alopecia have increased level of DHT in the scalp. DHT contributes to a shortening growth phase or thinning of the hair. Propecia lowers the levels of DHT in the scalp and serum by blocking 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme involved in regulating the hair follicle. This contributes to a normalisation of the hair growth cycle. Propecia has been studied in more that 1800 men and in general Propecia maintained or showed and increase in the number of scalp hairs. Those people who can expect to benefit from the use of Propecia are men with mild to moderate hair loss.
